Purpose of Role
The Art Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging visual arts lessons that encourage creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development among students. The role involves fostering an appreciation for art while aligning instruction with the school curriculum and age-appropriate learning outcomes.

Teacher – Art - Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured art lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach various art forms such as drawing, painting, sketching, and mixed media.
- Encourage creativity, imagination, and individual expression in students.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment materials.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized art classroom.
- Support and prepare students for art exhibitions, competitions, and school events.
- Integrate art with other subjects where applicable.
- Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
- Collaborate with class teachers and participate in staff meetings, training, and school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents for integrated learning.
- Participate in training, workshops, and staff meetings for professional growth.
- Maintain student records, discipline, and adherence to school policies.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Prior teaching experience of 2 to 4 yrs at school level preferred.
- Masters’s degree in fine arts / visual arts or a related field.
- Teaching certification (B.Ed / Diploma in Art Education preferred).
- Prior teaching experience in a school setting is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of age-appropriate art techniques and materials.
- Ability to engage and motivate students across grade levels.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for Art and Craft
